A to Z of artists Frink Dame Elisabeth 1930-1993

Born in Thurlow, Suffolk, Elisabeth Frink, Sculptor, draughtsman and teacher, studied at the Guildford School of Art, later teaching at Chelsea, St Martin's and finally at The Royal College of Art. her first one man show was held at St George's Gallery in 1955. She was elected a Royal Academician in 1977, became Dame Elizabeth Frink in 1983. Her stylised yet vibrant sculptures of men horses and dogs can be seen in many location in Britain and abroad, including the familiar noble horse and rider just off Piccadilly, London. She died in 1993 at Woodland Dorset.
