Description
One of a set of 4 lithographs produced by Bevan in 1898 after his return from studying and painting in France and Tangiers. Bevan was influenced by the artistic community in Pont Aven especially Gauguin. At the end of 1894. He took a house on Exmoor where hunted with the Dulverton and Somerset. His surviving work from this period is dominated by hunting subjects. This series was produced shortly after his marriage in 1897. It is reported that Bevan stopped hunting after his marriage and produced no more hunting subjects.
