The Paul Mellon Library

The BSAT book collection is currently being moved to a purpose built library in National Horse Racing Museum. The new library will be an excellent resource centre as well as a tranquil place to learn more about the genre.  The library is named after one of our most generous benefactors and renowned collector of sporting art, the late Paul Mellon KBE.

The library brings together publications and theses on all aspects of Sporting Art. There are publications on prominent sporting artists and on sporting themes. The collection includes many rare editions, the highlight being a first edition of George Stubbs Anatomy of a Horse. currently on display in Palace House.

If you would like to make an appointment to use the Paul Mellon Library for research please contact Sally Bills at bsatrust@btconnect.com.
